Meet Our Ambassadors! — Squash Angels

We've been blessed with significant support from our Squash Angels Ambassadors. These ladies have committed their support and you'll have a chance to meet them at the tournament. Our ambassadors include:

Annie Au

Annie Au is widely renowned to be Hong Kong's greatest ever female player and won her first Tour title in 2007 when she captured the NSC Satellite No1. Her next titles came the following year as she fought to surprise victories at the Chennai Open, Australian Open and Taiwan Open from low seeded positions.

2010 was a superb year for Annie as she lifted four Tour titles and became Hong Kong's highest ever ranked player as she broke into the world's top 15. A sole title came in 2011 at the Buler Challenge Cup. Her next triumph came on home-soil at the HKFC International 25 in May 2015 where she performed superbly to win in the final. Annie also reached the final of the Australian Open three months. She was unable to retain her HKFC International crown the following year, but did record a title triumph in 2016 at the Otters International. Annie went on to win the Texas Open in 2017 in a five-game battle in the final to win her first title of 2017 and her 13th career title.

Heather Deayton

Heather Deayton who has recently retired after eight years as Vice President of the World Squash Federation (WSF). Heather was born in Melbourne, Australia where she trained as a nurse and first started playing Squash. It was in Papua New Guinea in the early 70’s that she first was introduced to competitive Squash. Heather moved to Hong Kong in 1975 with her husband and two sons and quickly became involved in Hong Kong Squash, first as a player and subsequently in the Hong Kong Squash management team. She was appointed as Executive Secretary/Executive Director for Hong Kong Squash for over 20 years, retiring in 2005.

During those years she was involved at Committee level as a Hong Kong delegate at meetings of Asia Pacific, Asian Squash Federation, Sports Federation of Olympic Committee of HK, China and the World Squash Federation and served in the past as a committee member for 1993-2008 of the World Squash Federation (WSF) Championships Committee, and ultimately appointed WSF Vice President in 2006 serving until 2014.

As someone who continues to be enthusiastic and passionate about Squash she always welcomes the opportunity to be involved in the further development and promotion of this wonderful game of Squash whether locally in Hong Kong or worldwide.

Sarah Fitz-Gerald

She is described as one of the greatest players in the history of squash. Australia’s Sarah-Fitz-Gerald has won 15 world titles, including seven World Team Championships, a record that may never be equalled. Sarah is also 5 x World Champion and winner of over 65 World Tour Titles.

Sarah has served as Chairwoman and President of WISPA (Womens International Squash Players Association) for 10 years, 2 years as Female Vice President of Squash Australia, Director of the World Squash Federation Athletes Commission attending IOC Athletes Forums and very recently became Female Vice President of the World Squash Federation.

Dawn Olsen

Dawn was the undisputed queen of Hong Kong Squash and reached a career high world ranking of 20th in 1992. Dawn was a former Hong Kong national player and was five-time Hong Kong Ladies' Champion in 1989, 1990, 1992, 1993 & 1996. She was also East Asian Ladies' Champion in 1996 and Runner up in 1983, 1985, 1989 &1994.
